Plan Your Trip

Staying Off-Site

Perhaps you don’t have room left with all those speakers in the back, or the thought of your crisp paint job within a quarter mile of a campfire gives you the chills. CTMP is located a few minutes drive from a series of hotels. Peterborough will be a 30-40 minute drive to the venue, Bowmanville about 20-25 and Oshawa about 30 minutes. The following list is ordered closest to farthest.

There are a series of bed and breakfasts in the area if you’re looking for a more solitary retirement for the evening, or you just appreciate the experience. B&B’s in the area include (but probably not limited to) Joe-Lin Station, Susan’s Sanctuary, Our Valley View and Paddington Place. There are others however, so take a good look!

Whether you are staying in Bowmanville, Whitby, Oshawa or Peterborough all or most of the bigger chains have a presence there. If staying in Whitby or the west of Oshawa you’ve got the Landmark Cinemas complex with 7+ eateries. There are lots of other places nearby too! If Bowmanville is your choice for sleeping, located along Highway 2 you will find a number of the chain roadside eateries fast or relaxed. If Peterborough ended up as your destination, again, along Lansdowne you’re sure to find a familiar franchise.

Staying At the Track

Admission INCLUDES camping and Canadian Tire Motorsport Park is HUGE, with tons of space to choose from. Sites are determined on a first come first serve basis, so no reserving. Plunk yourselves down with a track side view and you can enjoy the racing while taking a break from walking the show, cooking up lunch or just having a “quiet” moment with the family. CTMP is a family friendly venue and we would love to see your family enjoying the grounds! Camping allows for tents, pop up trailers or even RVs.

There are also two playgrounds in the park for the kiddies, one located in the infield not far from the show grounds and the other located in the family camping zone on the west of the park. Bring the bikes too as the grounds are vast and ripe for exploring!

September is of course a beautiful month in Ontario but let’s not forget the temperature can swing dramatically. You’ll be most comfortable if you pack a range of things to keep you cool in hot sunny weather and warm in less temperate conditions. Layers, blankets and a good shelter will go a long way if the cold should step in. So make sure you come prepared!

There is a concession stand located in the main paddock area. They serve ice, burgers, dogs, fries, poutine, hot and cold drinks and some other stuff. The stand is cash-only and is only open from around 8AM to 6PM. If you are staying at the track we want to encourage you to pack the BBQ and a cooler full of your favourite cuts to enjoy in your serene campsite at night with friends and family. If you run out of any supplies, there is a small grocery store and LCBO located a quick drive up the road in Pontypool or if you need a bigger selection Orono is just a quick drive south.
